Day 15
Wow…they’re finally here …which explains why today’s entry is so late!
We went to the baby house this morning, changed their clothes, finally got to see their little feet, packed them up and hit the road! Everything is so different now. For the past two weeks we’ve been back and forth to the baby house, and in a way it’s felt like we were visiting someone else’s children. Now that we’ve spent the first day with them at the apartment, they absolutely feel like our children!
Justin, who we thought was going to be a little fusspot, is about as happy as one little boy could be. He amazed us as he played nice with his sister on the floor, and then he went for a spin in the walker, practically running across the wood floors! It may sound silly, but even though he’s only 17 months old, he seemed like he knew his life just took a turn for the best, and he was feeling great. At one point he was standing up, hugging the leg of the desk, and then he would let go for a moment and squeal with delight as he spent a few seconds with no help! He screamed throughout his bubble bath, but other than that, he was a joy to behold.
Paige, on the other hand, is developing a chest cold, and she couldn’t seem to get comfortable. It took quite awhile to get her to sleep, and even though she’s been down for about 2 hours, we have a feeling it’s not going to be an easy night.
We’re already feeling exhausted, and we’re going to do our best to figure out a schedule that works for them, and for us. Tomorrow we have no plans to go anywhere…just be with the kids and practice our speech for court on Friday. Until tomorrow…
