Day 27

Second to last day, and we woke up to rain. Chris is still feeling horrendous but managed to get a couple hours sleep here and there throughout the night. The morning was the same as most mornings…fed the kids, changed their diapers, played with the limited selection of toys we have (thank goodness they are still entertained by them), lunch, diapers, nap. Today Chris sucked it up to go out souvenir shopping with Emil. We were out from 2:30 pm – 6:30 pm and got most everything we needed. Emil has the patience of a saint, as he stood around while Chris tried to make decisions about what to buy. We don’t know how he does it, doing close to the same thing with each new family that comes to town. We tease him that he must be sick of it, but he swears he enjoys it, and somehow we believe him. He’s so sincere and kind and we’re going to miss him a lot.

We made a quick switch and Rob went out with Emil to pick up some dinner for us and a couple more bottles of drinking water. Tonight the tap water is running brown, so while we’ve been brushing our teeth with it, tonight we’ll use the bottled water for sure! After we ate we realized that we hadn’t taken any pictures today. So we took five minutes and Rob shot a bunch of Chris and the kids. These should give you a good idea of what the last two weeks have been like living in a three-room apartment with two babies! We love them to pieces, don’t get us wrong, but it’s just another reason we’re really looking forward to getting home! One more day…should be super busy with packing, Embassy, and any last-minute things we can think of.
